Ather Energy has launched a new variant in its family-oriented electric scooter lineup — the Ather Rizta S 3.7kWh, priced at Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). This mid-level trim aims to offer a balance of extended range and essential features without crossing into the higher price tag of the fully-loaded Z variant.
Ather Rizta S 3.7kWh gets larger battery from top-spec Z
The highlight of the Ather Rizta S 3.7kWh is its 3.7kWh battery, borrowed from the Z trim, offering a claimed IDC range of 159km. Despite the battery upgrade, the S trim keeps costs in check by skipping the colour TFT display and a few cosmetic features found in the top-end version.
However, it still comes equipped with a 7-inch DeepView LCD screen, auto hold, turn-by-turn navigation, emergency stop signal, and Ather’s safety tech called FallSafe. Performance-wise, there is no difference between the S and Z models — both produce the same power and have a top speed limited to 80kph.
Same storage, charging network, and battery warranty support
The underseat storage on the Ather Rizta remains a generous 34 litres. The wide, comfortable seat continues, reinforcing the scooter’s family-friendly appeal. Buyers of the new variant will also benefit from access to Ather’s fast-charging network, which includes over 3900 charging points across India.
The Ather Rizta S 3.7kWh supports the company’s Eight70 battery warranty program (8 years or 80,000km), available through the optional pro-pack. The variant is also eligible for OTA software updates.
Positioned between base and top trims
This new variant fills the gap between the base Ather Rizta Z 2.9kWh and the more premium Z 3.7kWh. Bookings are now open through Ather experience centres and the official website, with deliveries expected to begin within the month.
